In All Kinds of Weather: Gator Football

In All Kinds of Weather: Gator Football

imageYesterday we made the trek up to Gainesville to watch the season opener against Idaho! It was a 7pm game so we did not leave Orlando until about 2:30. Usually we have a pretty big tailgate group for the games, but this week was pretty low key. The sun was shining BRIGHT making it a million degrees for tailgate. My little buddy Mary Adele came to the game wearing her adorable Gator Cheerleading…

Last Day in China

Last Day in China

Wow! I am getting all sentimental writing this post…I honestly want to put it off because I know as soon as I write my China trip will truly be in the past. I still can’t believe I got to spend 14 days exploring such a unique country with my mom! It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! end sentimental part.

Exploring Suzhou and Tongli

Exploring Suzhou and Tongli

Today was the day I woke up and seriously considered staying behind. I felt absolutely miserable and the idea of a 2 hour bus ride to Suzhou and Tongli was not sounding good…but I am so glad I decided to suck it up and go!

silk worms

Suzhou was our local guide Tony’s hometown. We visited a local silk factory and got to see the whole process from silk worm to silk. It is pretty crazy to think…

Shanghai Day One

We had three full days in Shanghai and then our trip would be over…my body was exhausted and I was developing a pretty nasty cold/respiratory cough. It seemed to be making its way around our group! I guess that is what happens when you are in and out of hotels for fourteen days!

the view from our hotel

Luckily for me I had already decided to skip the tour for the day and spend it with my…

One of the first things they ask you in the ER is to rate your pain on a scale from 1 to 10. I’ve been asked this question hundreds of times and I remember once, when I couldn’t catch my breath and I felt like my chest was on fire, the nurse asked me to rate the pain. Though I couldn’t speak, I held up 9 fingers. Later, when I started feeling better, the nurse came in and she called me a fighter. “You know how I know?” she said, “You called a 10 a 9.” But that wasn’t the truth.

I didn’t call it a 9 because I was brave. The reason I called it a 9 was because I was saving my 10…and this was it.

The Travel Day from Hell: Guilin to Shanghai

The Travel Day from Hell: Guilin to Shanghai

Okay! Sorry to start with such a DRAMATIC title…but seriously this flight from Guilin to Shanghai was absolutely TERRIBLE. Luckily the morning was WONDERFUL. We spent it exploring a few last minute places in Guilin. DSC_3705

For our last morning in Guilin we got to visit a local tea farm. This was honestly located in one of the most beautiful spots plus it was a blue sky day! I brought my new hat to wear…

10 Travel Must Haves

photo-4If you haven’t noticed I absolutely LOVE to travel. If I could just jet off to different places for a living I would…seriously it would be my dream job!! (even though I would miss my second graders a lot!) I feel like I am definitely becoming more and more of a seasoned traveller. I can get my way through airport security and customs like a pro! To be a real seasoned traveler it is important to…
